Enter Standardization
In 1935, a group of engineers and lab experts came together to establish a standardized
sieve testing method, resulting in ASTM E-11. This standard outlined the proper way to conduct a sieve test, emphasizing the importance of rotating and tapping the sieve to ensure accurate results.
The process requires precision and patience, especially when handling multiple sieves simultaneously. Despite improvements, variations in test results persisted, sometimes resembling a chaotic circus act.
